elizabeth benotti ceramics.

just arrived are these gorgeous handthrown porcelain cups, $28 each,
by comptche, california's elizabeth benotti.
the inlaid carvings in the cup design are made with a japanese technique called 'mishima'.
in person they have tiny details that make them all individually interesting.
benotti makes the glazes herself.
i am a sucker for handmade dishes..it is very difficult not to keep these beauties for myself..

these four incredible pieces of natural wonderment are coming to sword+fern this week.
alexandra lauro of brooklyn based pipertree leather uses traditional handweaving techniques to make her stunning rope, leather, and oversized gemstone necklaces and bracelets. the blue pieces of quartz are especially curious- here's what she says about it's origins:
"aqua aura quartz is created when natural quartz bond with the nuclei of molecules in pure gold. This happens due to the crystal's natural electrostatic charge. The result is a dreamy beautiful blue surface.."
i can't wait to see them in person.
